Our Role as a Church School
Every five years, we are inspected under the SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) legislation. The inspection is carried out under the auspices of the National Society acting for the Diocese of Lichfield.
Collective Worship
Collective worship involves all members of the school coming together and participating in worship. Legally, collective worship should be ‘wholly or mainly of a broadly Christian character’. However, we conduct collective worship in a manner that is sensitive to the individual faith or non-faith and beliefs of all members of the school.
We share religious stories, teachings and hymns which celebrate half termly themes in collective worship. Collective worship takes place every day and allows for a quiet reflective time. These reflective times of worship give all children some experience of stillness as well as time to think, talk and celebrate achievements.
Values
At Prees C.E. Primary school and Nursery, we hold a core set of Christian Values:
Our values are intrinsic to our school and everything that we believe. Children and staff are encouraged to identify examples of each value in their day to day practice. Values were chosen collaboratively by staff, children and parents.
Our Values are:
- Friendship
- Trust
- Respect
- Honesty
- Kindness
- Generosity
We celebrate all of the values every term, but we focus on one particular value each half-term.
